The Karv Story

Celebrate Flavor & Family

Throughout the Mediterranean, every major life event is centered around the table. Some of our fondest memories are made through family and friends preparing and enjoying delicious meals together. The KARV menu was inspired by just such an event, which is the traditional Greek Easter feast. It celebrates flavor and family the same way the guests do each year at the home of KARV founder, Sandy Papadopoulos. We want each of our customers to share the same experience when they eat together with their new KARV family. We hope you enjoy celebrating with us, as much as we enjoy cooking for you!

Sandy Papadopoulos

Founder and Owner

Sandy has been in the restaurant business all his life. Raised in the Atlanta, he has been an integral part of the success of Athens Pizza, which has been a landmark in Atlanta since it first opened the summer of 1977 in Decatur by his late parents. He began working on the KARV Kitchen concept late in 2014, when guests at his family’s Greek Easter celebration inspired him to create a concept that incorporated the flavors of the roasted meats, fresh salads, savory sauces and overall atmosphere that he established at the event. He always felt that the Atlanta area, and beyond, was craving a chef inspired, fast casual Greek concept, that was truly a celebration of flavor and family, just like his family’s Greek Easter celebration.

In the Spring of 2016, a mutual friend introduced Sandy to Chef Shan Holler. Chef Shan has an extensive culinary background, having trained and finished at Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis, and being the executive chef at well renowned Eclipse di Luna, that has featured the best in Spanish cuisine and tapas for the past 15 plus years. Chef Shan worked with Sandy over the last 5 years to help perfect the KARV Kitchen menu, so that each person’s experience will truly be a celebration of flavor and family!
